Which HTML Editor do you recommend for building our new website?
We have made top results on Yahoo and other search engines for our main search terms (like needlepoint throw pillow), but now think our site's overall feel is not enhancing CONVERSIONS. We want to take off the training wheels and design a new ThrowMeAPillow.com ... We want your recomendations regarding WYSIWYG HTML editors (LIKE FrontPage and DreamWeaver)
PLEASE don't just turn this into a forum for ONLY Pros and Cons of those two... Perhaps there is even another HTML Editor, you would recommend... (windows platform)
WE are not seeking designer to DO THE WORK; we just want to be using the best tool, ourselves when we undertake this major revision of our site (we will be adding another 500 pillows).
Which HTML Editor do you recommend for building our new website?
there will NOT be a lot of flash and java

In my opinion, dreamweaver is probably one of the better applications for this type of work. I would consider purchasing photoshop also, as quality images can vastly improve the look/feel of a website. A downside of dreamweaver is that the code generated can be quite 'bulky' and inefficient, however this rarely proves to be a problem as it can be 'cleaned up' easily. This application also has great support for css, (one of the best I've used,) dreamweaver is very efficient when it comes to error reporting.
Photoshop is great for mocking up a site. I often create a dummy site on photoshop as it is much faster to change and move items on the fly, then convert it to a template.
>>for large websites you may be better looking at other methods of coding your site, instead of 500 individual product pages, you could just have 1 where the page changes depending on what has been clicked from the parent page, (can be done either with javascript or php.) This will obviously be a lot less demanding of server space...and therefore...cheaper
