how do i turn my kitchen door into an arch?

i have a large sliding kitchen door which i have removed, ive seen some arch mesh kit things which you plaster, in Homebase that i think i can use. But after ive made my arch how do i have one of them arch frames (like a door frame). where do you get them from? especially as my arch will be wider than the average door size. i think i will have to have a frame as i have dado rails so i need a frame to meet with the dado rail.
I dont want to add my doors back on i just want open plan

I had the same thing which i did myself .. i used the mesh kit from B&Q then plastered the wall, but I went open plan no doors.
From what I gather from your question it looks like you want to put doors back on. If this is the case then the mesh might not be the best option as they are not the strongest thing to potentially attach door hinges to.
I would go with redwine and speak to a pro .. as they might be able to create an arched studwall and plaster it for you .. start with a plasterer & see what they say is the best way forward, shouldnt be more than a days work for them.

How do I setup my new external cd drive so that Itunes will back up from there instead of my internal drive?

My internal cd drive in my laptop won't read cd's anymore. The warranty is up to get it repaired so I bought a new external cd/Dvd Drive. I want to backup my Itunes library but when I hit "backup" the internal drive "door" pops open instead of the external drive. How do I change the settings so that Itunes will use the external instead of the malfunctioning internal?

Open up iTunes and go into your Preferences. Click on Burning. You should be able to select the default Optical Drive for burning and just set it for the external. Be sure the external is connected and powered up before trying to do this.

what do i need to make a little podcasting studio with a laptop?

i have autotune evo, c01u mic, shock mount, pop filter, audacity, and a laptop, what else do i need to do or get to start recording my music besides beats (P.S Who sells good beats cheap or free?) i want to make mastered tracks, what software/equipment am i missing?

Sounds like you're trying to run before you can walk. If you possess the skills to make mastered tracks, you would already know what software/equipment you require. Owning a hammer does not make you a carpenter.

Perhaps you should find someone to help. In person, I mean. Check your local community college; if they have an audio engineering program, it's not difficult to hook up with one of the students and invite them to practice producing your podcast. Do it at the school on state-of-the-art equipment, and get a "professional" production in the end. Don't be afraid to slide him a few bucks for his participation.

Can you use a PS3 remote control on a PS2 (via usb)?

Well I figure since the PS2 DOES have usb inputs, you can just plug your PS3 control in with a usb cable and it should work.
It would be really cool if it does work...but...is sony that cool?

No. PS2 hardware and software aren't made to support USB gamepads, just special USB controllers.

Good ideas for a new laptop?

I'm going to enter college this fall and I need a new laptop.

It's pretty difficult to search for a laptop based on certain specifications, so please tell me if you've come across a good laptop that has these features:

Intel Core 2 Duo (at least 2.0Ghz)
Centrino 2 platform
(Preferred) 13.3 Inch Screen
FireWire 400
DVD/CD Burner
LED Backlit Screen
At least 5 hours battery life
A DECENT keyboard, i'll be typing a good amount.

Extras that would be nice: built-in webcam, fingerprint reader, media buttons, minimal crapware.

Money should be under $1500, brand doesn't matter, and if you've used the laptop previously please give your own opinion on its performance!

Get yourself the 2009 Toshiba Satellite, its really awesome with a great keyboard and a large amount of battery life. and it's about $800

Will the awful smell of my new wrist rest get better?

I bought a very standard gel wrist rest from Partners. One of those things you put in front of your keyboard to stop your wrists getting RSI.

I took it out of the packaging and it absolutely reeks. It smells like when you've put washing in the machine and forgotten to take it out again for about 3 days. Sooooo disgusting I cannot work with it. I've left it outside in the rain for 24 hours and it still smells terrible.

So my question is, has anyone found that this smell will disappear with time, or am i stuck with it? Should i take it back? If so what are the alternatives? Thank you

I'd take it back and get a refund or exchange for one that is acceptable. And, don't tell them you left it out in the rain... that might constitute 'user abuse' and give them an excuse to refuse the refund.

Looks amazing, yes.

I'm sure it made people at apple shudder a little...I doubt they can top that. I use a mac laptop, yea', but the Courier? wow. I hope MSFT does the hardware aspect too, not JUST do the software and outsource the hardware to the likes of HP and Dell....If they do, at least set standards.
