How is it possible that I can have a strong and high quality WiFi signal with good speed but low connectivity?
I have a 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g Wifi Usb Antenna with chipset RTL8187L and I'm having a weird problem. When I connect to a strong, high quality signal with a decent speed I am able to achieve decent connectivity for a little while and then it always craps out (couple hours or so) even though the LAN Utility still displays a strong, high quality signal with a decent speed.
I am wondering what is causing this, and I am also wondering about this "Throughput and the Tx: __% and Total__%" meter. What are the purpose of these values and why do mine fluctuate so much?
I know nobody will want to coach be through this and I don't expect that. Please if somebody can just send me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your consideration.
*Also I did download the newest driver for RTL8187L and no change*
There may be something interfering with the wireless connection, like a Cordless Phone System. Also, check that Windows isn't set to 'turn off the USB device to save power' with regard to your Usb Wireless Card.
